Stay Where You Are.

POSTERfinal4web

Maybe you can read it better here:
"I was asked for a graphic design exercise about a specific kind of tourism. I could choose the genre of tourism I was more interested in (as well as the city I wished to work on). It should not be about me. Tourism without holidays, I chose.
Our options should always be related to us (in a big way) even when our teachers and clients say us to think like the general public. I know now, autonomy is our finest prison.
We can say that modernist rules gave us more freedom than this recent un–idealistic world. Achieving neutrality is an eternal failed goal. We feel that failure as well as journalists and judges do.

Most people that buy tourism postcards or any other product made to entertain, do not wonder about the time A designer took to learn how to pick the right type to that piece of paper. They do not care because most people can design for their own business card, phd final work and chinese restaurant.
The consumer doubts because the consumer has a personal computer and printer that enables him to design a tourism postcard as easily as a designer's beautiful apple computer can.
Designers can now be part of an huge evolution as opinion makers while organizing discourse by committing to the transparency of the big process in wich design is involved.
Finally, the hippies got something they wanted.

Occidental post-modern society is living its last senseless times. Information society allows the consumer/producer to get a glimpse of honesty.

Rotterdam is good for street shopping,
but you can also visit those yellow cubic houses for €1.80.

Thank you for your attention.
The designer, João Marrucho."
